Lohithadas is an important personality that helped in polishing the style of Malyalam Middile cinema and in influencing film makers to take up stories that intrigued the minds of the common audience and themes that had crusts of humane predicaments. His screenplays were rich with themes that surfaces in every society and detailed with nuances of human innocence and exploited the traditional social predicaments. His narrative style flowed up to points of poetic melodrama that established an easy connection with the viewers.

John Abraham - The Auteur
Revisiting the Indian cinematic scenario, a scenario suffering from the incredible absence of the term “auteur”, the name John Abraham figures as an essential avant garde filmmaker. The reclusive, mystical John Abraham exemplifies the current state of Indian cinema; coming so close to brilliance and then fading into obscurity and sheer rottenness. Just four films to his credit, his works stand among those rare specimens of individualistic and universal film making from India. John Abraham had the vision that films can be a medium of social change and he proved so effectively, consolidating his place as the most definite auteur in realizing the cinematic medium in India.

Salim Kumar Effect!
(a reaction to Salim Kumar's winning of the Best Actor at the National Awards)
The other day, playing with the remote and changing channels, a certain news item interested me. Well, as you have guessed, it was about the National Awards and Salim Kumar mostly. I gave a snigger out of surprise and realized it was no joke. Over the few hours, the Malayalam news channels were full of Salim Kumar and the film ‘Adaminte Makan Abu’. Salim kumar was suddenly trending in twitter and people were updating their facebook status about the fact. Different people said different things about him. And then, more people said different things about him. People still say things about him and his magic.

Sathyan Anthikad - Evergreen Director
A word called ‘Malayalitham’ is used to describe anything that pours out the essence of the culture and tradition of Malayalam or Kerala. No other words can describe movies of Sathyan Anthikad. Let the story take place in the countryside, crowded cities or even outside Kerala, his films ooze out with ‘Malayalitham’. And this is one of the main ingredients of his success.
